Far-Left Democrats Attack Israel for Attacking Iran
United States President Donald Trump repeatedly praised Israel’s successful June 13 strikes targeting Iran’s nuclear and long-range missile capabilities. Many Republicans also praised Israel’s courage, but several Democrats accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sabotaging talks to shut down Iran’s nuclear program peacefully.
The most vocal criticism came from the nine-member radical-left-wing congressional coalition known as “The Squad,” made up of Reps. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ayanna Pressley, Cory Bush, Delia Ramirez, Greg Caser, Ilham Omar, Jamaal Anthony Bowman, Rashida Tlaib and Summer Lee.
Squad attack: “Israel has once again bombed Iran, a dangerous and reckless escalation,” Lee, representing Pennsylvania, posted on X. “The war criminal Netanyahu wants to ignite an endless regional war and drag the U.S. into it. Any politician who tries to help him betrays us all. The American people do not want this.”
Tlaib and Omar also claimed Israel’s actions would drag the U.S. into war. “The Israeli government bombing Iran is a dangerous escalation that could lead to regional war. War Criminal Netanyahu will do anything to maintain his grip on power,” Tlaib wrote. “We cannot let him drag our country into a war with Iran. Our government must stop funding and supporting this rogue genocidal regime.”
Iran’s mullahs publicly say they want to “wipe Israel off the map,” so even the most radical leftists should be able to see that the Iranians have genocidal intentions.
So why are they so angry with Israel for defending itself with targeted strikes against Iranian nuclear facilities? President Barack Obama’s nuclear deal was a failure, otherwise there would not be nuclear sites for Israel to strike.
Anti-Semitism: Some liberals may be naively holding out for a diplomatic solution, but others only pretend to want such a solution to give Iran time to develop the capacity to destroy Israel.
Last year, protesters at universities across America chanted, “Death to Israel,” “Death to the Jews,” and “Death to America.” So it isn’t surprising that the politicians these students support have similar views.
Stephen Flurry and Joel Hilliker wrote in “The Sickness in American Universities”:
The radical left hates biblical precepts that produce the rule of law; individual freedom and accountability; limited government; stable families; freedom of religion, speech and property; and other principles that trace back to the law given to the Jews and the other Israelites at Mount Sinai. So it is unsurprising that they also hate the people God used to introduce these principles to the world. …
For well over a generation, Islamist leaders have referred to America as the “Great Satan” and to Israel as the “Little Satan.” Now, many atheists, socialist, feminist American students, professors and other elites agree.
